Bedtime story showdown

Bedtime Story Showdown: NPR
by Emily Wylie

All Things Considered, March 9, 2009 · It can loom over you, one more hurdle before bedtime, especially when your child hits the over-and-over stage, loving the one book you hate, the one you've seen your partner try to "lose" under the bed, the one which, if your obsessed child finds it again, you will help lose permanently in an accident involving the paper shredder.

Yum!

When Leah was home we took a trip to Middlebury and stopped into Tully & Maries for a bite to eat. I had the Black Bean and Quinoa Chili, and it was absolutly wonderful! Among my searches I dicovered this cooking blog, http://closetcooking.blogspot.com/2008/07/black-bean-and-quinoa-chili.html, and his recipe for the chili. It was a huge hit, I never 100% follow a recipe as typically I never have everything that it calls for, but was super delicious.

I am loving Kevin's Closet Cooking blog and can't wait to try other recipes that he has on the page. Specifically this ... http://closetcooking.blogspot.com/2008/12/maple-butter-tarts.html YUM!

It's starting...

Just saw this on CNN. I have always been against anti-bacterial items such as soaps, wipes, hand sanitizers etc. And only getting on prescriptive meds if it's absolutely necessary. My thoughts have always sided with those who think that all of this super clean, no germ environment would breed a better kind of bug, resistant to all antibiotics. I like dirt, I like germs - they help me be less sick, less often, by boosting my immune system. This is pretty scary stuff!
